Features: mineral water spring, baths with cold and warm water
Usage: its mofetta can be used successfully in the treatment of cardiovascular problems, and in the case of arthritis. The tub baths have proven to be helpful in the treatment of chronic heart diseases, of high blood-pressure, of problems with the digestive and vascular systems, in the case of kidney problems and illnesses of the nervous system. The water of the spring can be used as drinking water, as well.
Treatment conditions: carbonated mineral waters that contain iron, bicarbonate and mineral salt are used in the warm water bath with 17 tubs. The spring with a debit of 30 l/second is used to supply the two outdoors pools on the open field next to the bottling base. In the building you will find a pool with warm water, sauna and mofetta, outdoors there is a swimming pool with cold water for your relaxation.
Possibilities of accommodation, meals: the hotel in the immediate neighbourhood of the bath does not function at present, but the town being very near you can find several possibilities of accommodation and several restaurants. But the fields around the bath are appropriate for camping.
Tourist attractions: the Catholic church of Jigodin?it was constructed in Gothic style in the 15th century. The church of today preserves the signs of the rebuilding in Baroque style in the 18th century. Its double altar was built in the 17th century, but the oil painting illustrating the Holy Trinity built into the altar is even older. The Reformed church was built in 1875.
The Nagy Imre gallery, native house and burial place-the memorial house can be found next to the gallery, it is a little house built in folk style. The ashes of the famous painter were placed in the external walls of the workshop near the house. The house preserves the painters personal objects, furniture, books and unfinished paintings.
Jigodin is a preferred place for those who love hiking, it also has a popular ski slope, but the camping site does not function at present.
