The Ioan Slavici and Emil Montia Museum

The museum is sheltered by the Bohus Castle, a construction built in neoclassical style with rich history. Ioan Slavici was born in Şiria, on 18 January 1848. The simple house of his parents does not exist anymore. A marble plate laid by the Writers' Union at the commemoration of 25 years from his death (1950) indicates the narrow street in which the house of Savu and Elena Slavici stood. The exhibition dedicated to the writer comprises four rooms, in which his complex personality is evoked by photographs, manuscripts, books and newspapers. In 1970 a permanent exhibition was opened, which is dedicated to the life and activity of the composer Emil Montia (1882-1965) who lived in Siria from 1906. 
In the park of the castle stands the statue of Antonia Bohus, the busts of Ioan Slavici, Mihai Eminescu, Ioan Russu Sirianu, Nicolae Ştefu and Emil Montia.
