Cotroceni Stadium

Known as the Plane Tree Park, the present sport complex from Cotroceni, was donated in 1865, by a princely decree by Ioan Cuza King himself, to the first association with a sportive character from Romania, The Target Shooting Society.

Since 1867, this association has extended its activity changing its name in The Romanian Central Society of Arms, Gymnastics and Target Shooting. With the passing of years, the old park has changed its look.

Thus, in 1939, was arranged The Spring Swimming Pool, then in 1949 the football stadium, the whole picture being completed with the tennis arena (6000 places) - 1975. Then, gradually have appeared other constructions, among which the most important place for competitions was The Games Hall.
