The University Library Carol I

Inaugurated on the 14th March 1895 as a Royal Foundation, the B.C.U. offers a dynamic continuity to the cultural and educational traditions which marked its beginnings.

Within the University of Bucharest, the B.C.U. is the coordonating center of a network formed from 14 faculty libraries whose document collections are meant to serve the ongoing educational process. The B.C.U. is the first large university library from Romania which introduced an integrated information technology system.
