Borzont is a small village inhabited only by a handful of people. Many of the residents of the village are people resettled from other settlements of the Gheorgheni area- a tendency alive even nowadays, because it is a silent and peaceful place. Resettlement centuries ago marks the appearance of the village, and then in 1770 people from Moldova were also brought to settle down in the village. The queue village lies on the banks of the Borzontul Mare creek. Its name comes from the Borzont creek. Near the village a natural reserve rich in flora gives a plus to the landscape surrounding the settlement: the Nyíres, located right under the dominating pine and spruce forest. In the village there are skillful woodcraftsmen, who master the art of lumbering and wood carving and they developed it into an industry that became the primary source of income of the locals.. Nowadays there are more than 356 houses in Borzont, made by the craftsmen from the village. Borzont is a perfect place to experience nature, you simply can't get a better view over nature from a window of a well-warmed house. |
