Presentation - Gherla Franciscan Church Gherla

In 1731 the Roman-Catholic community was headed by the Franciscan priests who came from Dej for the celebration of religious services. Between 1748-1857, the church St. Anthony of Alcantara is erected. The building located on the 1 May Street, is realized in a Baroque style with specific elements, a vessel type church with several chapels and altars. Maria Loretto chapel was built in 1760, the stone altar of St. Francis and the stone altar of St. Anthony were made in 1761.
