It is located on the boundary of three geographic units: Vladeasa mountains, Mesesi mountains, Huedin plateau, being crossed by Dragan River. At the confluence of Dragan river with Sebesel river lies Dragan lake, formed by a dam 120 m high and a canopy opening of 422 m. The area has a special beauty, forested ridges, the lake and the dam forms a wonderful landscape. Nearby Draganului valley, in Poieni commune, stands the fortress of Bologa.
