Hasdatelor Defile Mihai Viteazu

Hasdate river is a feeder of Aries river which form, after leaving Turda Gorge a separate defile, named Hasdatelor Defile, with spectacular meanders. The area, until the capture of downstream water, was declared a protected natural area of county importance. The most interesting portion is at the downstream end where the water of Hasdate runs through a short area of narrow gorges, forming Ciucas waterfall, which has numerous tearing downhill, with waterfalls. The waterfall is about 5 m high, and at its base, the accumulated water creates a small lake. Ciucas waterfall and Ciucas lake, natural attractions of local importance, are founded on the lower course of the valley, not far from Cornesti village, in South-West area of Turda.
