Bocskai Castle From Aghiresu Aghireşu

In Aghiresu locality, in 1572, Bocskai Gyorgy builds an impressive castle in the Renaissance-Transylvanian style, having a trapeze precinct with towers in the corners which was distinguished by the stone frames of the windows. The northern side was the one that provided access to the precinct, the main building being located towards the South and having four rooms.

The property is inherited by the Transylvanian prince, Istvan Bocskai, and after his death in 1606, the castle will enter in the possession of more aristocratic families such as Mikes, Haller or Vargyas. The castle is a private property but it can be visited, not being enclosed.
