Theodor Pallady Museum

Founded in 1971 the museum that now bears the name of Theodor Pallady houses the Serafina and Gheorghe R㵴 collection, made up of paintings and over 800 drawings and engravings signed by Pallady, French and Spanish paintings from the 18th -19th centuries, pieces of furniture and Oriental works of art. The collections are housed in the former Melik house, built in 1970 for the merchant’ s family, being one of the oldest buildings in Bucharest, a representative example of the Romanian civil architecture of the phanariot period. It is subordinated to The National Folk Art Museum.
