The Olt and Upper Mures Rivers Museum (M.O.M.S)
Branch of the Oriental Carpathians National Museum in Miercurea Ciuc. The Olt and Upper Mures Rivers Museum, branch of the Oriental Carpathians National Museum, is located in Miercurea Ciuc, county of Harghita. Its headquarters are hosted by an impressive building located in the heart of Miercurea Ciuc (Harghita), on 23 Patofi Sandor Street. This section of the Oriental Carpathians National Museum focuses on: identifying, researching, establishing, developing, preserving, restoring and redeveloping the historical, ethnographical and artistic patrimony across the county of Harghita.
The Oriental Carpathians National Museum-Presentation
During 1995-1998, the city of Sfantu Gheorghe hosted the section, to become later on the branch of the National Museum of Transylvanian History, which constituted the basis of the Oriental Carpathians Museum. By Order of the Minister of Culture no.2082/03.12.1998, the Oriental Carpathians Museum was established as public institution under the Ministry of Culture. At the beginning of the year 2007, by Governmental Decision 40/17.01.2007, the Museum was listed among the museums of national importance. The Olt and Upper Mures Rivers Museum is the local section of the Oriental Carpathians National Museum.
